Safe kids Manatee is part of a 5 county coalition consisting of Manatee, Sarasota, Pinellas, Polk and Pasco. Every year one of the 5 county’s hosts Safe kids day. This year was Manatees turn to host the event. It was held at the Ellenton outlet mall. Safe kids day is a day in which all aspects of child safety are brought to light by holding an event where parents and children can come out and learn child safety. We educate them on things like pool and water safety, transportation and car seat safety, bike safety and the importance of using a helmet. We also use Safe kids day to show the public all the different FIRE , EMS AND POLICE assets. Its gives them a chance to meet the first responders in their county. There was a great turn out from the public and the county’s emergency services presented themselves well!
